According to Hryhoriy Rudenko himself, to write a book of memoirs about his work during the Cold War, and in general to share his thoughts about the role of intelligence in the history of mankind, he had repeatedly been advised by the Head of the Fund of Veterans of the Foreign Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant-General of the Reserve Leonid Rozhen, asking him to recall the past and return to writing.
