Biography

 

Born July 4, 1970 in Taraz (Jambul), Kazakhstan.

Graduated from the Kyiv Higher All-Military Command School, the Kyiv National Linguistic University, the National Defense Academy of Ukraine, and the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Attended courses for NATO staff officers at the Netherlands Defense College and the Canadian Forces School of Military Intelligence.

Served in special forces units, and held leadership positions in the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine as well as the Security Service of Ukraine.

1999-2002 – served as Defense Attaché at the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America.

2003-2004 – held leadership positions in the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

2004-2011 – served in the Security Service of Ukraine, as Chief of Department and Chief of Staff of the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

2014-2015 – headed the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.

2015-2016 – Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

2016-2019 – Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine.

Candidate of Economic Sciences.

Took part in the peacekeeping mission to Iraq.

Participant of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).

Awards: the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd Class, and the medal “For Military Service to Ukraine”.

Married, has three sons and a daughter.

June 5, 2020 – by Decree of the President of Ukraine № 212/2020, was appointed Chairman of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
